The Inquirer: A Hacker using the pseudonyms ‘Weedgrower’ or ‘X-pOSed’ claims that he has compromised Intel and obtained sensitive data. The solo hacker claims to have found a flaw in the subscriber segment of Intel’s web site, according to The Hacker News. He said that he has access to sensitive data that includes credit card numbers, email addresses and passwords. Weedgrower said, “I’ve got to give some applause to all these pseudo-security technicians out there. I cut Intel a break, I have access to a database and another vulnerability which enables the right to read user data. I’ll be gracious here and NOT spill the data, but I will provide screenshots to prove that I have access to Credit Card data and such.” ...

Details of Intel’s upcoming Sandy Bridge-based i3 processors have leaked out, and there’s one particular model that has caught people’s interest: it features a tiny TDP. Intel investing up to $8 billion in 22nm chips, creating US jobs

Intel has announced plans to invest between $6 billion and $8 billion on its next-generation 22nm manufacturing process across several existing US factories in Arizona (Fab 12 and Fab 32) and Oregon (D1C and D1D), along with construction of a new development fabrication plant in Oregon (D1X, to open in 2013). Intel regularly tweaks its price list with nary a word to the masses, but the Tech Report caught chipzilla red-handed this time. The site reports that Intel has lowered prices on four desktop and two mobile processors. Looking at the latest price sheet (PDF), Intel cut 15% off its 3.2GHz i3-550, putting it at $117.
