- Resilience as individual homework — telling burned-out people to be more resilient instead of changing the system that burned them out.

Team resilience tests whether the people building and operating the system can survive failure and still improve the system. Both matter. They are not the same problem.
A simple recovery loop
When your team has taken a hit—failed launch, painful attrition, messy reorg—use a loop instead of a heroic sprint:
- Stabilize — name what is broken, stop optional bleeding, protect sleep and on-call load.
- Learn — run a blameless review; separate one-off bad luck from repeatable process gaps.
- Adjust — change one or two structural things (ownership, WIP limits, escalation path), not twelve.
- Ship again — resume predictable delivery before taking on ambitious new commitments.
